Tindersticks Box Set of Film Music

You can safely call the music of the orchestral British band Tindersticks "cinematic" without fear of rock-critic cliché. That's because Tindersticks have worked with the French director Claire Denis since the mid-90s. The band has scored four of Denis' films and two members of the band, Stuart A. Staples and Dickon Hinchliffe, have scored one apiece (L'Intrus and Vendredi Soir, respectively). On April 26, Constellation will release the Tindersticks box set Claire Denis Film Scores 1996-2009, a collection of all six of their Denis soundtracks.

The set includes scores for the following Denis films: 1996's Nenette Et Boni, 2001's Trouble Every Day, 2002's Vendredi Soir, 2004's L'Intrus, 2008's 35 Rhums, and 2009's White Material. The four scores made since 2002 are being released for the first time. The box is available in CD and LP formats, and they include a 48-page booklet with film stills and an essay from music writer Michael Hill.
